Before we get started with your counselling, coaching or training, we first need to book an initial consultation to discuss your needs.
You’ll need to start by getting in touch with me to book a consultation. I will then ask you to make some time in your schedule for a brief consultation to discuss your needs. This will only take 10-15 minutes, and you will not be charged for it.
During our initial consultation, I will ask you a number of questions to determine your needs. This will help us figure out whether I am the right person to meet those needs.
What will I be asked about?
Some of the questions I will ask you are very basic: your age, the gender you choose to identify with, your cultural background, and your occupation and educational background. I ask these questions in order to help build a basic picture of who you are.
I will also ask some questions about your everyday life: your family background, your social support network, whether you are employed and financially secure, your physical health, and what you generally do with your leisure time. These questions help me build a picture of your general level of wellbeing. They also help identify any risk factors and protective factors that will influence our work together.
I will then ask some more detailed questions about the issues you wish to work on. We will also discuss in detail what you hope to achieve. This will help me to figure out how much work we will likely need to do together. It will also help us identify whether I am the right person to help you achieve your goals.
If we agree that we would be well suited to working together, then we will set a date for our first formal counselling or coaching session. If it’s training you’re after, then I’ll mock up a draft plan tailored to your needs.
